Chicago Bulls Information

You cannot talk about the Chicago Bulls without mentioning Michael Jordan. If you were lucky enough to have Chicago Bulls tickets while Jordan was on the team, then you witnessed one of the greatest basketball players to ever play the game of basketball. Jordan's journey to the top was a long one that ended in with his retirement in 1998 but not before he broke almost every record in the NBA record books redefining the game of basketball along the way.

After being skipped over by two other teams, Jordan was finally picked by the Chicago Bulls during the 1984 draft. Needless to say, the two others teams are probably kicking themselves to this day. During his rookie season alone, Jordan began breaking franchise records in scoring (3rd in the league) and steals (4th in the league). He led the Bulls back to the playoffs and earned Rookie of the Year honors.

From the start, management built the team around Jordan. Other key players on the Bulls' offense included point guard John Paxson, power forward Charles Oakley, forward Scottie Pippen and the controversial Dennis Rodman.

Another legendary basketball player of the Boston Celtics, Larry Bird, referred to Jordan as 'God disguised as Michael Jordan' after he scored 63 points in one game. Jordan and the Chicago Bulls spent the remaining of the 1980s adding more key ingredients and supporting players.

By 1990, the Bulls were positioned for greatness and the legend of the 'three-peat' began. Like a bull that had been in captivity for way too long, Chicago charged out of the gates at a frightening pace. They had a record breaking 61 wins, dominated the playoffs, and quickly won the NBA Finals in five games over the Magic Johnson-led Los Angeles Lakers.

It was natural that the MVP would go to Jordan. Then again in 1991-1992, the Bulls won their second straight title with another record breaking 67 wins. They won the championship again against the Portland Trail Blazers in six games. Jordan won MVP once again. In an unbelievable feat of basketball excellence, the Chicago Bulls won the championship for a third time in 1992-93. Not since the Celtics won against the Phoenix Suns in the 1960s had a NBA team won three times in a row. Needless to say, Jordan was once again the MVP. He also tied Wilt Chamberlain by winning his seventh straight scoring title. After the third win and dealing with his father's murder, Jordan decided to leave on a high note and announced his retirement. But that was not the last fans would see of him.

On March 17, 1995, he announced that he was coming out of retirement. With a new lineup of Harper, Pippen, Rodman and Longley, Jordan was a key factor in leading the Chicago Bulls to another three championship. Finally, in 1998, after drastic changes in the roster, Jordan decided once more, sealing his name in the record book forever.

Though the team has changed from its Jordan heydays, a pair of Chicago Bulls tickets will still provide you with hours of action-packed basketball excitement.
